I'll have a helping of boogers with a side of snot

My two-year son, Noah, is a very picky eater. His menu is very routine. For breakfast he eats maple and brown sugar oatmeal. For lunch, yogurt. For dinner we are back to oatmeal. He, of course, will snack on crackers and pretzels. Recently, he has decided that he will eat PB&J. However, if you offer him anything outside of those choices, he will not eat. Classics of child eating, like hot dogs, refused. Mashed potatoes, No way.

Then, I catch him picking his nose and eating his boogers. So much for having a refined palate.

My. My. Haven't you been quiet lately.

Yes. I have been quiet lately. And for good reason. See, about one month ago (March 27th to be exact), I was quietly working away at my desk developing solutions to complex problems when my phone rang. I answered it and my wife calmly explained that she thought her water had just broke. I flew out of my office and ran home to take her to the hospital. Life has not slowed down since then.

On March 28th, at 1:46 AM Erin successfully birthed our third child, Lannom Issac. Life has been very busy since then. I took a week and a half off. When I did return to work, I had a big project waiting for me (that I finished up last week). I changed my hours to work from 7 AM to 4 PM, so I have been getting up an hour earlier. When I get home at 4:30ish, I usually take the two older kids outside for awhile, then it is dinner time, bath time, and bed time. By the time Mihaela goes down at 8, I am so tired. But, that is when Lannom starts his fussy, colic time.

Sleep has been very hard to come by until recently. Lannom has started trying to sleep through the night (or at least sleeping through my shift). The rule at the Bowman household is I take care of Lannom if he is up before 2. Erin has the shift after 2. Lately, he has been being fed somewhere between 11 PM and midnight, and then goes right back to sleep. So, I've been getting a little bit more sleep.

Anyway, he is getting fat and growing well. He appears to be a very healthy baby. Despite the lack of sleep and the extra burden of care-taking, I think we will keep him. :)
