The South has never gotten over losing the Civil War and thinks that it will eventually overcome the North. However, having lost in an out-right war, they feel the best way to win now is to be more covert.
So, they have started claiming Northern States in a more secretive manner; by replacing Mass. Highway signs with Alabama highway signs. That'll show 'em.
Sarcasm, irony, thoughts, complaints, ideas, philosophies, happenings, creations, rants and raves with a very little chance of anything being new, unique, or interesting.

I was chided
I was chided by one of my faithful readers last night for not maintaining my blog. I can't help it. I rolled out a new piece of software at work, a web-based Time and Leave System. Needless to say, rolling out any piece of software is rife with quick fixes and missed functionality. I have been coding like crazy trying to keep up.
At the same time, our new batch of PCs came in so half of my staff is involved in rolling those out to the users.
At the same time, we implemented a new Help Desk management system that we purchased and have changed our entire help desk process from a very informal process to a more formal one. This has led to much consternation amongst the users.
Meanwhile, on the consulting side of my work life, we rolled-out a new website last week as well. While the bugs there have not been nearly as overbearing as the ones at my main job, there has still been some work to be done.
Finally, work-wise, school starts in two-weeks and I have been trying to get the school network and school PCs prepped for the new year.
Add on top of that the fact that Noah is experiencing colic, thrush, and acid reflux and cries an awful lot. My wife called me several times last week in tears because of the constant screaming and I left work on two occasions to go home and take care of things there. Noah still gets up in the middle of the night and I have the early shift there (before 3 AM).
So, I am busy and tired and busy and tired. The blog maintenance is on the very bottom of the list right now.

Lawsuit Happy
I know that we Americans think we own the world when it comes to frivilous and stupid lawsuits. However, this story of a bus company suing car-poolers has to take the cake in my book. This is the kind of story one would expect on a satire. However, as they say, "Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction."

Home Alone and No Posts
I know, I know...I feel so bad that I haven't been posting any witty or insightful articles. I am letting all 3 people of my clamoring public down. I am so ashamed.
What is worse is that my family is still up in St. Louis, so I am home alone at night and still can't post anything. Part of the problem is that I am so busy. I am working hard. July used to be an easy month for me, but not this year. We are rolling out new software at work and at my other job. Also, the new school year starts in a little over 3 weeks at PCA, so I have to have it ready to go as well.
With the family gone, I have spent my evenings killing sand wraiths and other assorted monsters as I seek to keep the Empress from creating "The Sands of Time" in the Playstation 2 game "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within." So besides being busy at work, I am distracted at home.
Finally, nothing in the news has really piqued my interest to write about. I am kinda of "BLAH" toward the whole politics and current events right now. I know what is going on; I am paying attention. But nothing is interesting enough for me to write about. Oh well...I'm sure I'll jump back into this in a few weeks or so...

Home from Visit with Parents
You may have noticed that there have been no posts from me lately. That is because I have been on vacation since the 1st of July visiting my parents. I just returned this evening because I have to be at work tomorrow. Erin and the kids stayed at my folk's house because I am scheduled to attend/speak at a conference for work Sunday-Wed. of next week and she didn't want to be home alone with the kids for 4 days. However, my conference is at the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL (located across Mobile Bay from Mobile, AL) and currently, Hurricane Dennis is tracking towards that spot. The conference may be cancelled.
Anyway, I didn't really get a chance to work on my new blog layout, though I do have a cursory design that I am going to try and finish and implement....
